Landscape Architecture, Ecological Restoration and Planning
Edgar David, RLA, founder and principal Landscape Architect for SED Design, specializes in Landscape Architecture, Ecological Restoration and Planning. His primary goal is to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the individual and the landscape which surrounds them.
SED Design is dedicated to the creation of distinctive and evocative spaces in the context of the expansive landscape. Essential to this work is the development of scientific and aesthetic understanding of each site and its regional setting. Study and evaluation of environmental conditions, cultural influences, historical impacts and user needs are the stepping stones of our design strategy. The firm uses research and analysis to reveal inherent and unique qualities of sites so they may be utilized and enhanced. This approach establishes a scientific basis for the restoration of natural systems that is also a vital design component. It is our belief that design should integrate creative and scientific processes to produce memorable work that contributes to environmental health by restoring life and sustaining the ecological balance our planet's fragile ecosystems.
Professor of Landscape Architecture
From 1990 to 2002 Edgar David served as a tenured Professor of Landscape Architecture in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture at Temple University where he taught courses in field ecology, landscape restoration, ecological management, and landscape architectural design.
SED Design brings innovative solutions to each project in the creation of unique and memorable spaces. The firm's public landscapes and private gardens integrate design with low impact and green principles to meet the programmatic needs of each individual client.
